How to Hide Money during a Trip

If some relatives or friends of yours are about to take a trip, these tips on how to hide money will come in handy.  Nobody wants to worry about hiding money or the risks of coming across a burglar.

The best advice you can give your friends is to keep the money in several places while traveling. Your acquaintances will always have a stash available if they take the time to split the money into pockets, shoes, and money belts. This procedure makes it difficult for a burglar to get all the money at once. At most, a thief would see your friend's hand pulling out just a few bills from a particular pocket.

Credit & Debit Card
Remind your friends to apply for a debit card several weeks before their departure. Provided there are plenty of automatic teller machines or bank branches at the destination, debit cards are a better option than credit cards.

Shoe
Unless unconscious (or plain drunk), your friends can feel safe with their money in their shoes: spare change in the pocket, the rest in a shoe. Keeping the money in a sock at the ankle will work better than having it underneath the foot. It's easier to retrieve.

Money Belt
Money belts are… belts… that look like boring normal belts…
They come in different styles and have a hidden slot, a compartment or a zipped pouch where a traveler can stash the money. It takes more time to reach the money hidden in a money belt, but your friends will walk down the streets and avenues of the foreign city in safety.

Secret pocket
Sew a hidden pocket into their pants. Don't place it near the normal pockets, though, because a burglar will likely sense its presence when fishing through the clothes.

Hotel
Your friends can save themselves a lot of trouble if they leave the money in a safe at the hotel.

Around the Neck
