A Guide to Never Lose Keys Again

Are you among those who always misplace their keys in the worse moment and under the most bizarre circumstances?  Are you tired of feeling stupid, overwhelmed, or careless because of such a tiny thing?

As it turns out, it is not such an insignificant event if it is causing you to feel bad about yourself, and it is time you find a system that will help you get rid of those self-punishing feelings and help you concentrate on living your life instead of on looking for your keys all over the place.

1. Always leave your keys in the same place.  Doesn't get more logical, right? False.  Still, many people continue to lose their keys.  The truth is that, leaving the keys in the same place all the time is a habit you have to learn, and in order to make it yours, you must understand the tricks to it.
    
2. The place for your keys must be logical.  This means, it has to complement your routine and follow your path after you get into your home, leave it, or are out and about.  Is the kitchen the first place you visit once you get home? Is it your bedroom?  Or maybe the hall closet?  Is your purse always with you when you're out?  Are your pockets the place where you stack everything?  Really trace your steps and common actions, and you will identify where your keys should go.
    
3. Hang your keys instead of putting them on a table or drawer, where they can be moved by accident.  Get beautiful decorative hooks that make a pleasure out of the simple action of hanging your keys there.  You should find delight in every detail and action you perform in your life, even if it is just hanging the keys.
    
4. While you are getting into the habit, put notes around the house to remind you about putting your keys away in the designated place.  Put a note over the hooks, on your mirror, on the refrigerator, and on the door.  These notes will remind you along the way, in case you forget, and you can go back and put your keys securely on their spot, so that the next time you go out, you can do it in a relaxed and controlled way.  This is the feeling that will make you stick with this routine until you get into the habit.
    
5. Get a shiny and heavy brass personalized key chain; it will be heavy enough for you to notice it while you are holding it in your hand or pockets; it will be bright enough for you to see if it is hanging on the hook; and it will have your name on it so that you or someone else can easily identify it as yours.

Good habits are hard to stick to, but you will do it once you see the benefits it brings into your general well-being and lifestyle.  It is just a matter of making up your mind and consciously going for it!
